Find your conversion rate in seconds, compare it with your industry average, and work out exactly how many conversions or visits you need to hit your next goal.
Three quick steps to see where you stand against your industry.
Choose the sector closest to your business so the benchmark comparison is relevant.
Add the number of conversions and total visits for the same time period and traffic source.
See your rate, the gap to the industry average and what it means in real conversions.
Small, tested changes often deliver the biggest gains.
Match the headline to the ad or search that brought visitors, and keep one clear goal per page.
Test button copy, colour, size and placement. Even small wording changes can move results.
Slow pages lose visitors before they see your offer. Compress images and trim heavy scripts.
Ask only for what you need. Fewer fields, clear labels and inline validation lift completions.
Reviews, testimonials, case studies and trust badges reassure visitors at the moment of decision.
Make tap targets large, forms thumb-friendly and checkout short so mobile visitors convert.
Conversion rate is the percentage of visitors who complete a desired action, such as buying a product, filling in a form, subscribing to a newsletter or calling your business. It is calculated by dividing conversions by total visits and multiplying by 100.
It shows how well your site, offer and traffic work together. A higher rate means you get more customers from the traffic you already have, which lowers your cost per acquisition and increases return on ad spend.
It depends on your industry, traffic source, device and price point. Many sites see rates between 2% and 5%, but a well-targeted landing page can do far better. Use the benchmark here as a starting point and focus on improving your own trend over time.
Divide the number of conversions by the number of total visits (or ad interactions) and multiply by 100. For example, 250 conversions from 10,000 visits is a 2.5% conversion rate.
